Privacy Policy
Last updated 10 August 2026
Your Bizmate (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by [Your registered business/company name], ABN [your ABN]. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what we do with it — both from business owners who use Your Bizmate to build a website, and from visitors who submit an enquiry through a site built on our platform.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. Information we collect
From business owners (our customers):
- Account details — name and email address, via our authentication provider, Clerk.
- Business details you enter — business name, category, phone, email, ABN, address, description, service areas, opening hours, social links, and any logo or images you upload.
- Billing details — handled directly by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we hold only what Stripe shares back with us (e.g. subscription status, plan, and a reference ID).
- Support correspondence, if you contact us directly.
From visitors to a website built on Your Bizmate:
- Enquiry form submissions — name, email, phone, and message, submitted to whichever business's site the enquiry was made on. This information is provided to that business so they can respond to you; we act as a service provider to that business for this purpose.
- Basic, aggregate usage data — page views and phone/email click counts, shown to the business owner as simple totals. We do not build individual visitor profiles from this data.
2. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies necessary for the service to function: an authentication session cookie (set by Clerk), and a temporary guest-session cookie that lets you build a website before creating an account. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
3. How we use your information
- To create and operate your account and website.
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To deliver enquiries submitted on your site to you, by email.
- To send service-related emails — e.g. payment failure or trial-ending notices.
- To generate draft website content using AI (see below) when you use that feature — this only uses the business details and description you provide.
- To provide customer support and respond to enquiries you send us.
- To maintain the security and integrity of the platform.
4. Who we share information with
We use a small number of service providers to run Your Bizmate. We share only what each needs to do its job:
- Clerk — authentication and account sign-in.
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
- Resend — sending transactional emails (enquiry notifications, billing alerts).
- Google (Gemini API) — generating draft website copy and powering the optional AI chat feature, when a business owner uses those features. Only business details relevant to the request are sent.
- Neon and Vercel — database and application hosting.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Where your information is stored
Our primary database is hosted in Australia (Sydney). Some of the service providers listed above operate infrastructure outside Australia, which means some personal information may be processed or stored overseas as part of running the platform (for example, by Stripe, Resend, or Google). Each of these providers maintains its own security and privacy standards for the data they process on our behalf.
6. Data security
We use industry-standard measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) everywhere, access controls scoped so one business can never see another business' data, and rate limiting on public-facing forms. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold.
7. Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes. You can permanently delete your account, business, website, and all associated data at any time from Dashboard → Account → Delete account — this also cancels any active subscription and cannot be undone.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to access or correct the personal information we hold about you at any time — most of it you can already view and edit directly in your dashboard. If you have a privacy complaint, contact us using the details below. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
9. Children's privacy
Your Bizmate is a business tool and isn't intended for use by children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the product changes. We'll update the “last updated” date above when we do, and for significant changes we'll make a reasonable effort to let account holders know.
11. Contact us
